Barkley, aged 9 years, and Gracie, aged 7 years, are Springer Spaniels owned by Anne. They both suffer from Arthritis and Gracie also has Spondylosis. They both benefit from swimming and get very excited about it because they love it so much. (Jan 07)

Kiera & Dizzy are Standard Poodles aged 6 years & 2 years, owned by Lorraine. Lorraine does Obedience work with both girls, and Kiera is also a PAT dog (Pets As Therapy). Lorraine takes Kiera to nursing homes to visit the residents, and Kiera often seems to target withdrawn ladies and gently rests her head in their laps. After targetting a particularly quiet elderly lady, one staff member told Lorraine they hadn't seen the lady smile before! (Jan 07)

Lucy is a 10 yr old Border Collie who suffers from Arthritis & Epilepsy. Blu is a 5 yr old Labrador & Isla is a 4 yr old Border Collie who suffers front leg lameness. All 3 dogs are owned by Nicky & Andy, and swim regularly. Isla was the first to come swimming. Since swimming regularly her Chiropractor has noticed a vast improvement in her. Isla was the last of the 3 to try swimming, with the expectation that she wouldn't like it. In fact she loves it, and it has given her a new lease of life. (Jan 07)

Tremor (11 yrs), Kes (5 yrs) & Kite (18 mths) are Border Collies owned by Margaret & Len. Margaret competes in agility around the country, although Tremor has now retired. They all enjoy their swimming, although Tremor loves his mum so much, he won't go in the pool unless Margaret goes in too! (Jan 07)

Ben (9 yrs) & Dillon (1 yr) are owned by Tina & Peter, and Tweed (6 yrs) is owned by Tony. They are all Border Collies. Ben had a Cruciate Repair in May 2005, and has swum ever since. Tweed had a lameness problem in a hind leg, which he has now recovered from. Dillon was rescued from an understairs cupboard by Peter at about 5 months old, and is now enjoying a full and happy life with his new owners. (Jan 07)
