Willow , Kizzi & Sabre are all German Shepherds owned by Addie.  Willow & Kizzi en jo y swimming, but Sabre is not yet quite convinced, but it's early days for him, having only been swimming a few times so far.  As with many GSDs, they each started off being quite splashy in the water, but all quickly got the idea and now swim well. Roxie is estimated to be about 2 yrs old, and a Saluki, and is owned by Julie & Andy.  She was brought into the vets practice where Julie works, believed to have been hit by a car, and possibly abandoned to avoid a large vet's bill.  The vet did between 6 & 8 hours of surgery to stabilise & pin a ruptured ligament in Roxie's knee.  She has been swimming with us to aid her recovery.  She wouldn't choose to swim if it was left to her, but she is calm and tolerates it.  As a desert breed, being immersed in water is not a natural feeling for her.  (Oct 2006)

Jake is a 6 yr old Golden Retriever owned by Kevin & Tasha.  Jake had surgery for Elbow Dysplasia when he was about a year old and sometimes suffers from some lameness in the leg.  He is swimming to help improve his range of movement and strength in the repaired leg.  He loves swimming and en jo ys a little jump in off of the ramp now and then, as you can see from the big smile on his face!  (Oct 2006)

Takis & Sienna are 2 retrievers owned by Vicky & Tony.  Takis needs to swim as he is suffering with arthritis following a cruciate repair some years ago.  His land exercise is restricted to lead walks, but he thoroughly en jo ys swimming in the warm pool.  (Oct 2006)

Maddie is a 5 year old Rottweiler owned by Lou & Pete, who rehomed her from the RSPCA when she was 2 years.  She had been born & kept in a barn for her first 2 years, and not allowed into the house by the owners pet Jack Russell.  Lou & Pete bring Maddie swimming to help with a lameness problem and to improve general fitness.

Charlie & Tara belong to Susan & Joel.  Charlie is a 7 year old Labrador who has had a hip replaced and suffers with arthritis.  Tara is a Rottweiler cross who is at least 12 years old, although as a rescue dog, her exact age is not known. They both love swimming, and Tara certainly doesn't seem to know her age!

Spike & Buster are 6 year old German Shepherd brothers, owned by Karen, Barry, Rory & Rio.  Spike has a problem with a hind leg, and his brother Buster is fit and healthy.  Spike quite likes swimming, and comes for therapy, but Buster absolutely loves it, so he has to swim every time Spike does!
